Marta and Dori: Thinking me
A duet performance by two women united by their hair. Their constant interaction creates a journey from order to disorder, from clean uni sono to instinctive dialogue. They explore physical and emotional possibilities in their limited state.
Thinking me tells the story of how two women that have always coexisted as one begin to experience their own individuality. Meanwhile they are connected by their hair, they start to experience their specific movements, while allowing space for their natural gestures and their interactions. Precise gestures are gradually replaced by joint movement based on contact and partnering techniques, which is largely limited by the braids, that is, the connectedness of the heads. The rough dynamic curve of the performance goes from the precise and restrained state of ordered uni sono to disordered tension. The artistic language comes from different circus techniques, among them clown, physical theater and dance.
The essence of this special alloy is the limited freedom by the together-braided ponytails. This high degree of control allows the performers to draw from the mentioned artistic fields. It is not only the specificity of the creative method that provides the inspiration, but also the underlying aspects of what the connected minds have to say. The fact that we are never alone, that we exist in constant interaction, that we can only move forward together, and that violent action immediately backfires on the initiator … All of these carry messages that are noteworthy in our world today.
INALTO MARE: "I miss the train, I’ll take the elephant"
"J'ai raté le train, Je prends l'éléphant" (I missed the train, I'm taking the elephant) is a circus duo dreamt up and performed by a terrifying-terrified-terrifying ball juggler and a reverse-by-principle handbalancer.
This is a creation with no age limit, for all audiences, that does not exclude anyone.
It's a dialogue between hand balancing, juggling, contortion and a lot of theatrical play that never misses the opportunity to spill over into the world of the clown.
